AOAC 2002.05 with modifications

Method Description:

An internal standard is added and the sample is saponified in ethanolic KOH. It is then extracted into a heptane organic phase, and evaporated to dryness. The sample extract is reconstituted and fractions of the internal standard, D2 and D3 are collected using a semi-preparative normal phase HPLC column. The fractions are then concentrated, and the levels of D2 and D3 are determined using reverse-phase HPLC with UV detection.
