Method Reference:

Internally developed and validated method

Method Description:

This method determines the amount of sucralose in various food products. Samples are dissolved in water, an internal standard is added, and the solution is cleaned up using either filtration or solid phase extraction. Solutions are then injected onto a weak anion exchange phase HPLC system with Refractive Index detection. Quantitation is accomplished by comparison to known standard injections on the same HPLC system.

Simple filtration is used if the sample is completely water soluble and\or concentrated. Solid phase extraction is used if the sample contains a low level of sucralose (less than 1000 ppm). Samples that contain complex starch matrices are also digested with enzymes before extraction and cleanup to liberate all of the sucralose from the matrix.
